The Escapist

He said I wish I could dissapear
It'd be just like magic
You know if life were like the movies
Mine would be classic

And when his mom came to his room
he was no where to be found.
For a second she thought his wish came true
but he was outside on the ground

He said I like daydreaming.
I can do it all day.
I imagine all my problems
and me flying away.
I coudn't take this
I could be an escapist.

At school, he sat down in a daze.
watching the trees and sod.
And everything became a Violet haze
and everything else, he forgot.

The other kids shoved him out of that "crazy stare"
In the sink he washed the gravel out of his hair.
For a second he thought his wish come true.
The bathroom became a mesh of royal blue.

I like daydreaming.
I can do it all day.
I imagine all my problems
and me flying away.
I coudn't take this
I could be an escapist.

An old man sitting in his room
called the nurse with a ring.
And 2 o'clock that afternoon
he was no where to be seen.

And when she came to answer his call
all she found was a message on the wall
For a second she thought "this must be a ruse"
But the message she read was true.

It said I like daydreaming
I've done it all my life.
and now I've made it through these problems
and flown so very high.
I made it.
I'm an escapist.
