Midnight

Snow falls on the city,
White on black;
This is wrong,
And they want me to turn back.

Snow blends with the city lights;
I guess you're on my mind tonight.

It's midnight and I'm wide-awake,
It's midnight and I'm half-asleep,
I sometimes feel so desperate and lost,
But all those good memories I'll try and keep.

The music may be my love,
But you are my soul.
I guess I figured out what's bad for me,
Considering I once paid the toll.

You can have me,
You can break me,
You can save me,
You can take me...

Tonight.

Now it's one-oh-nine, and still I think of you.
One-oh-nine, I once wished that you'd want me too;
You seem to make everything else fade to black,
It's been a long time, I guess I musta lost track.

Rain falls on the city,
Black on black.
I guess they were right,
Please, I want to go back.

You're a friend, but yet an enemy;
A stranger, but so close to me.

You smile at me,
You laugh at me,
You speak to me...
You're mad at me.

4 o'clock on wednesday,
And I'm feeling blue.
I still don't fully understand,
Why it is that I want you.
I sit here all day and wonder
Why it is that I do.

Some say that it's stupid,
Some say that it's love.
I guess I'm the type that believes in "none of the above".
I was once told
"Never fall in love, it will surely end bad."
Well, I've yet to fall in love,
And strangely, I'm kinda glad.
