Your Sunken Eyes and Bright Smiles.

Right, wrong, mistake after mistake.

Does it make you happy to see what you've done?
Dreamed of something a little more then what you've accomplished.
What happened to those drawings?
The ones of the monsters you said you saw when you fell asleep?
What happened to your music?
All I see is dust gathering over that guitar of yours in the corner.
Does it make you depressed to look at yourself in the mirror?

New, broken, fixed, repeat.

You told me of the love you used to have.
The pretty one with green eyes and brown hair.
Don't you wonder what ever happened to her?
I saw her in the news today.
Her hair was gone, and her eyes were sunken.
I tried to show you her picture.
You just turned away once I mentioned her name.
Now that I look at you,
I see your eyes are almost as gone looking as hers.
It says she died from suicide.

Closed off, confused, angry, screams.

You slammed your door in my face.
I slammed my fist in your window.
It ended with both of us breathing hard with eyes wide at the blood on our skins.
I pulled your jacket off, your short sleeved shirt not hiding anything you hid before.
By the end of the day, we both were as sorry as ever.
You tell me everything, and I sit and listen.
I hug you as hard as ever.

Months, stories, healing, happiness.

Your eyes are the brightest they've ever been.
The brown standing out wonderfully against your now golden skin.
Your guitar is in your hands, making the sounds even more precious then they were before.
I look at your tee shirt, and laugh at the memory of me buying it.
Just the thought of the angry store clerk makes my stomach twist.
You look up at the sound and smile.
And you laugh along with me.
