Crystalline

Glittering facets of an intricate façade
Built a wall of glass to protect myself
Never thought to include the possibility of someone
With such careful hands

I wouldn't shatter in your arms.

Glass throws shadows upon things I cannot answer for,
A blessed opaque clarity
For minds that knew no better than to shy away from
Such a closed off wretch, the broken remnants of a girl

But you can see right through me, can't you?

Complications; time, age, everything in between
Things that my carefully crafted mosaic, the shards of my life,
Were never prepared for
And so my walls crumble to an unexpected fissure

This was not built to keep you out...only to keep my heart in.
