The unloved
To tell them that they can

I write to tell them
There’s someone out there
Who will listen
To every story
Who will understand
All the pain
Who will fight
For all their beliefs

To tell them they’re not alone
They’re never alone
That their angel is watching them
I’m writing these words
To tell them that the only difference
Between them and the next person
Is that they have a right to believe
They have a reason to believe in something more

To warn them
To never let the world take their heart
There’s someone out there
Who’s meant to take it
Until then
Guard it, but let it feel
It’ll build them

Lands at the feet of someone who cares
Someone who’ll rescue them
From the burning stake they’re on
They were tried and found guilty
For sins never committed
