Razor Blade

Sharp and Shiny
So pretty,
I can't help,
but to stare.

Calling out to me,
it knows me by name,
This I swear.

The more i stare,
the louder it calls,
It wont be long now,
Until I break.

i'll make you feel better,
It tells me,
in the sweetest of voices,
Let me make it all go away,
i'll make you forget.

It is as if it knows that I am alone,
for it is my friend,
It is always there.

i feel strongly for it,
I need it.
i know it wont fail me,
Because pain never disappoints.

i am use to pain,
To being looked over,
and let down.

So I reach for my closest friend,
oh how it fits so comfortably in my palm.
I tilt it towards my skin,
a place none would see.

i am alone.
the room is silent,
Aside from mine own weeping.

i press hard,
And i am careful.
up and down, and across.
Dott the i and slice deeper.

carve the words into my flesh,
That i feel in my heart.
i am alone.
I am unloved,
and i deserve it.

As the color of red,
bubbles up upon my skin,
I admire the contrast,
from blood,
To my fair tone.

i wipe my friend clean,
Careful to leave no trace,
i close it,
And put it in its special place.
close by my side,
And always ready to come to my aid.
