This is something you work for, being important, being loved.But you shouldn’t have to work for the love form your family.
It should always be there, like a story behind a book.
There should be no broken hearts, no broken dreams, no broken mirrors, no broken hands,
When it comes to family.
There should be no tears, there should be no pain.
Family shouldn’t act like this,
Family should come before anything else,
Family shouldn’t pretend.
So father to you I know,
That I am only a screw up, a fuck up, that I was never what you wanted.
I know I will never live up to your expectations that you’ve set so high just to see me fail.
So mother to you I know,
That I am the daughter you wish you never had,
Even if you love me, it’s only cause you have to.
I know that you’d be better without me,
but can’t you at least try to make it seem like you want me around?
