Away

What makes you turn away?
Away from what could become us.
Away from me and all my wishes.
Come closer, boy.
Try on my emotions a bit.
Can you feel?
Sense the weights.
They grow with each tear
I've shed for you,
My love.
The weights aren't me.
It's you.
Not your fault, of course.
Mine.
I kept loving and loving.
Even through despair.
I cradled and fondled.
My desire for your affection grows.
Please, just try them on
And maybe then you can't
Turn away.
