A Girl Who's Lost Her Way

Vengeance it has hailed.

Swift of step and fair of figure

A haunting maiden passes yonder,

Garments torn and bloodied,

Worn from years of travel,

Spite and loss leading her way.

For she had no regrets,

Parting without remorse,

Without heartfelt goodbyes, nor even a whisper.

Heart held in open hands, she sways,

Unknown, the reason, though they rumor “It was the wind!”

The wind, whose last murmur, ran chills down a disheveled spine.

Who lost her heart, so weak and fragile,

As her body, blown away, nothing more than mere dust.

Dust and ashes, ashes to dust,

Blood fades to dreary darkness,

And the frayed pages of an ancient book, bring you these verses,

Verses, upon which a thousand souls have laid their lives to decipher,

Yet only the girl, a girl, forgotten by all,

A girl without name nor spirit,

For her family took it, her soul, by needless beating.

Without soul, broken and alone,

She found the archaic text, and from it, took a spell,

The spell that killed the Brich family,

The Brich family, her family, it killed,

Dead and gone, due to a spell,

The spell that killed the Brich family,

Vengeance it has hailed.
