My Curse; Winter's Hearse

Golden sun cowers behind dull grey clouds,
Rain shivers off once vibrant flowers;
Bright dawn is hidden in the shroud
Of the frost, mists and winter’s cold showers

I wake up now to pallid skies,
As signs of how summer has died
Fall down harsh as the bright star cries.

Yet it seems that everything has withered;
Atmosphere glows dark as cold and shivers
Dominate the faces now trapped in the blizzard.

I just want the sun to come out,
The colours to explode
And life to give shout,
I want the ice to be showed
The rivers to again flow;
The flowers to again light up and glow.

I want these chains broken,
For everything to be set free,
For words to stop being unspoken;
For summer to again set its decree.

I want to break the cold dark spell;
Before winter comes to unleash its hell,
Life should again giggle in glee
But I wonder if you’ll think of me?

As my radiant sun hides behind these clouds
I hope so much I can break the shroud;
Break my own chains of words unspoken
Ascend into heaven or fall down broken.
