Remembrance Day Poem
A shattered scream,Echoes through the night.
Another soldier that died,
Fighting for the right,
To keep our country safe.
Smoke pours from the Engine,
Of the fallen plane spiraling down.
No parachute opens up,
Another comrade lost.
A flash burns your eyes,
The smell of powder enters your nose.
You look down at the fallen,
Only to realize it’s your brother.
As you shoot down someone’s father,
Someone’s brother or another’s son.
Only to shoot them down forever,
To live in the land of souls.
You remember all the lives,
You took to keep us safe.
You remember all the families ,
That were ruined in fateful years,
But you are forgiven,
For taking those lives,
If it was to keep us safe,
For us, to survive.
This day is to remember,
The soldiers that died.
Whether they were the enemy,
Or a comrade all the same.
You protected your country,
And All I can say to that,
I salute you.
