Waves
Her hands rose to her eyes,The burning tears falling,
Her heart was breaking,
Her life a mess.
She looked out across the white tipped waves,
Wishing so dearly you were standing by her side,
The side you were by before everything happened,
She wished that day would come again.
The stinging that came to her,
Was when she knew you'd never come back,
Her side, always going to feel empty and cold,
Her eyes falling more and more hurting tears.
Her first step was numb,
But as she kept going,
She knew in her mind what she was going to do,
The beaches sand, falling over itself with each step.
No one was watching,
No one was caring,
This broken hearted girl,
Walking to the rising tide.
The chill came first,
The water was colder then she thought,
But that didn't stop her,
She just kept on walking.
Up to her knees,
A name was called,
She looked around,
Watching someone running forward.
Her eyes focused,
It was you,
She thought she was dreaming,
So took another step in.
You froze on the spot,
Knowing if you tried helping,
She'd take a step more,
Another step into the chilling tide.
Her face turned back,
The beautiful sunset across the horizon,
She must have been dreaming,
She must have been imaging you cared
Her feet felt numb,
But she kept on walking,
Knew this was the right thing to do,
Her shoulder feeling the chill.
You suddenly rushed in,
Not worrying if she walked another step,
You stretched your arm forward,
Finger tips touching her slightly.
She went under,
You were frantic,
She felt whole,
You felt empty.
You find her body,
But just mintues to late,
Everyone running towards you,
Her body, limp in your arms.
You looked at her face,
A small smile spread across,
You cried so hard,
Knowing that you brought this on.
You held her close,
Knowing deep inside she was never coming back,
Your mind linked with hers, just one last time,
Showing you what her last thought was.
You wiped your eyes,
Smile slightly at her thought,
She was happy,
That she fell in love at the beach.
