A Woman
A WomanThere once was a woman.
She worked hard all her life.
She loved her children, her husband, and the Lord.
The Lord she loved above all.
Then one day she got the news that would change her life.
She would spend the next seven years fighting a battle.
A battle that she would never win.
There were days when she would want to die,
And nights that she would cry herself to sleep.
She knew that she would not live to see her youngest get married,
Or to see her grandchildren graduate.
She lost her battle one September afternoon.
She left with without a breath or a word.
She went to join the Lord and the angels.
There once was a woman…I called her Mom and her battle was cancer.
