I Never Loved You

No matter how fast I run,
My past always catches me,
All the mistakes I’ve made,
Stare me in the face.

I can’t keep running,
I can’t keep lying to myself,
I have to face the truth,
And the truth is,
I never loved you.

Tears stream down my face,
Running just as fast as I can,
Running from you,
Running from the lies.
The lies that have become my life.

I can’t keep running,
I can’t keep lying to myself,
I have to face the truth,
And the truth is,
I never loved you.

The truth that hides behind my eyes,
Tells me the truth,
Not lies,
All the things that have pushed me down,
Made me fall to the ground,
Stare me straight in the eye,
All it was, was one lie,
A lie to myself.

I can’t keep running,
I can’t keep lying to myself,
I have to face the truth,
And the truth is,
I never loved you.

I see the truth in my eyes,
The truth hidden for so many years,
I’m tired of lying to myself,
I’m tired of the hurt that I have caused myself,
I’m tired of the tears I’ve cried.

I can’t keep running,
I can’t keep lying to myself,
I have to face the truth,
And the truth is,
I never loved you.

I looked myself in the eyes,
And saw the truth,
That one little white lie,
Tore me to shreds,
Ripped my heart,
The lies tore me apart.

I can’t keep running,
I can’t keep lying to myself,
I have to face the truth,
And the truth is,
I never loved you.

I never loved you,
I never loved you because,
How can I love you,
When I can’t love myself?
