Stand Up

You sit there and judge me,
Based solely on what you see
And across the world there is a sea
Of boys and girls being judged like me.

The clothes, the makeup, it’s too much.
I’m dressed punk and you treat me as such.
You sit there and eat your lunch
The way I look is me, with my own special touch.

I’m going to be who I am.
You’ll never change what I am
I just think, I let you be you,
Why won’t you let me be me?

Across the nation, we unite
We’ll stand up and fight,
Don’t judge us,
Let us be.
You be you and I’ll be me.
