The Grass is Greener

“The grass is greener…”, it was said to me,
As if my life was but poetry,
It’ll get better, it will, you’ll see,
You don’t see anything but me - but me.

In this life of nuts and bolts,
There comes a time where ones mind jolts
For peace of mind and peace of heart,
The joy of death to come and start.

I’ve seen my blood - how red can it be?
On the shiny metal blade, I see
The end is near, the end is nigh,
If only one could smile and fly.

Yet still I see my wife so fair,
I see my life, the joy’s still there,
I see my life - the wonderful ride,
The grass is greener on the other side.
