Scars

You stay with me,
Unwanted and tarnishing,
Imperfection on my skin and heart,
With what you once were to me.

You're that scar on my wrist,
The one that once led to my vein,
The one that almost killed me.

You're the scar on my heart,
The one that tore it to pieces,
Broke it without a care,
Killing me slowly.

You're the scar on my leg,
The one that started it all,
All the pain you caused me,
The beginning of our end.

You're the scar right below my eye,
The one that reminds me,
Of all the tears you caused me to cry,
The nights you made me suffer.

You're the scar on my stomach,
The one that reminds me of every hit,
Every punch I took for you,
Of all the things I did for you.

You're the scar on my knuckle,
The one that reminds me of our end,
The one where I punched you,
For all of the pain that you caused me.

The scars that mar my skin,
Remind me of all that you did to me,
All of the pain you made me suffer,
All that I had to go through to become stronger.

The scars that blemish my skin,
Remind me never to let myself get hurt again,
To not let anyone get as close as you,
To prove,
That I'm stronger than you.
