RUN IN THE RAIN

In the rain
I walk
I remember what happened
What she did
What she said
I tell her to stop
I make her promise she wont do it anymore
A week goes by
She starts again
I look at her wrists
There are marks there
I tell her to stop
She doesn’t listen
The marks are there
Again and again
She wont listen
I beg her to stop
I sound like a broken record
She promises she will
I don’t believe her
Not anymore
I think about it
Again and again
I see her sad face
In my mind
I cant handle what will happen
I know its near
I need to get away from here
I need to stop her
Before she does something
She will regret
I start to run
Faster I run
In the rain
To get to her
To make her stop
I’m crying now
The rain hides my tears
I’m finally here
I hear a scream
I run inside

I wake from my nightmare
I guess I screamed
I look around
Was it all a dream
I look at my wrist
Nothings there
No the girl isn’t me
Its one of my best friends
But I fear it will be me
If my dream comes true
I have to stop her
I run outside
In the rain
I’m crying now
The rain hides my tears
I hope I’m not to late
I’m finally here
I run inside
To stop her before she makes the cut
I stop her before she screams
I throw the blade
I hold her tight
I tell her
Its all right
Well get through this
You’ll see
Just promise me no more
Cause if you do
Then ill start to
She agrees

I wake again
It was all dream
I hear no scream
I see no blood
I am alone
No ones here
Is she alone
Will she cut again
Is my dream trying to tell me something
Yesterday she said she’d stop
I want to believe her
I wish I did
I wish I could dream again
But I know that soon
I will only have nightmares
She said she’d stop
If only
It were that simple
