Rose

I heard roses were the best way to go
But I was too frightened you‘d reject, afraid you’d say no
So I decided to write this poem for you
So you’ll know my love for you is true

I’d rather watch a rabbit die than see you in pain
‘Cause without you it’d be very sad and it’d probably rain
Your eyes are green as emeralds, sparkling and bright
They shine as beautifully as grass in the sunlight

Your kiss is as sweet as a candy bar
Your smile makes me happier than a brand new car
Your hair is as soft as a horse’s mane
You’re very intelligent and have quite a brain

You make me smile even when I’m sad
Although I’m scared out of my wits by your dad
I think we were seriously meant to be
Even though I like coffee and you like tea

I love you with my whole entire soul
On me our love will never take toll
You make me melt from my head to my toes
Damn, I should’ve just gotten you the rose
