The Inevitable
Raging fire (inside my heart)Burning desire (for purpose and for life)
My own adversary
I'll just smile and pretend all is merry
Let's all smile and pretend life is merry
All alone
With my heart of stone (cold, hard)
But even the strongest stone erodes
And the purest hearts currode
I've been long gone (dead inside)
Things aren't always as they seem
Living in this horrifying dream (nightmare at best)
These painfull thoughts won't let me be
Waiting for somebody to wake me
(But my eyes are already open)
"Hold on to life and it will all be okay"
Time and time again that's what you say
But it is not okay and it never will be
And you know that just as well as me
You couldn't begin to understand
(I don't wanna take your hand)
Heart of gold
Heart so cold
Repeated sin (false repentence)
What else can come of this but armageddon?
You can't escape the inevitable
(This is my escape)
