I let you in on a little secret
Hoping you’d understand
Prevent me from making a mistake
And hold my steady hand

Make me speak rationally
Shake off all feelings of doubt
Like a man standing up on a bridge
Thinking there’s just one way out

Because my mind is suddenly changing
What was right now suddenly seems wrong
Caught up in a passionate moment
Feelings unexpectedly don’t belong

But my secret was only words
A mess you refused to see
All I wanted was a rock to cling to
Before the tide stole away with me
