First Steps

A daughter awakens
To find her father gone
She begins to cry
Her mother rushes over
Trying to comfort her
She screams for her father
Only to find him not there, again.
Her mother carries her outside
There her father is working
Her mother sets her down
On the green grass
The daughter takes her
First steps.
