An Angel Now And Forever.

You are not forgotten, just placed somewhere away from me.
The memory still there but reality not meant to be.
I used to smile when you cried pretending it was over me.
I’m left here all alone.

And even after all this time I’m still left a mess.
Can’t stop the tears, always grieving, wearing my mourning dress.
Days go on, so does the pain, you said with time it would hurt less.
I’m left here all alone.

I remember the end, the sorrowful image of white sheets and hospital bed.
‘ She’s gone’ the words said to me that filled my heart with dread.
‘ An angel now and forever,’ is what they all said
I’m left here all alone.

You said you’d come, but you never did. Did you just forget?
Or just caught up with your new life, new people you have met?
I’ll always wait. Forever will. I won’t give up just yet.
I’m left here all alone.

I thought of giving up, but my driving force is you.
I’ll live the dream we once shared, just like you want me to.
I know one day we’ll meet again, reunited me and you.
And I won't be left here all alone.
