The one you crush on is whose heart you crush

(Just to let you know, this goes with a story I'm working on. It's called The Bleeding Will Stop When You Open Your Heart)

Two young kids, so nice and so smart
Work wonders on each others' heart
She sees him and wonders why
The thoughts of love have passed him by
He thinks of her and tells himself
Stop hiding the memories on the shelf
She smiles and laughs, biting her lip
She grabs his glass and takes a sip
He smiles back, sits on the bed
A million thoughts run through his head

Why won't she notice?
Why can't she see?

A chance he'll miss
To set me free

Why can't I tell her?
Why's it gotta be hard?

We're not who we were:
The kids in the front yard

That's the way it goes,
Here's what it's about:

I don't think she knows

He'll never find out
