If I Should Die Before I Wake

The shackles on my soul and mind quake.
Madness constricts me like a snake.
Voices and visions appear beautifully
Ready to guide and instruct me.

If I should die before I wake,
I hope that darkness my soul takes.

With these visions, I freely converse.
For my death needs not be rehearsed.
They’ve shown me so clearly what I must do.
Darkness, sweet darkness, how I yearn for you.

If I should die before I wake,
I hope that darkness my soul takes.

I start to drift into sleep,
From all the tears that I do weep.
My dreams become dark and twisted.
It will soon be as if I never existed.

If I should die before I wake,
I hope that darkness my soul takes.
