mask of a stranger

Fear’s closing in on me as I try to escape
This reality, I put on the mask to hide my
Pain, it’s getting to be more than I can take
People are blind to what they don’t want
To see, so no one tries to see all the pain in me

When everything’s wrong,
I’ll be okay, leave me
Alone, let me hide
Behind the mask
Of a stranger that I
Don’t know, it’s better
Off that way

Falling apart on the inside,
Everything’s not always alright
I need someone to see me crying
I’m dying don’t let me fade away

Can you imagine? A word with
No tears, everyone wearing a mask,
Accept people for who they are burn
The masks let emotions run free!

When everything’s wrong,
I won’t be okay, find me
Alone, crying the tears
That I’m trying to hide
Behind the mask of a stranger
That I don’t know, Don’t
Leave me to die, please
Save my life!
