Dawn's Breaking Light
Blurry eyed visions bounce across the ceiling,Blue lights melt off the clock,
Silhouettes greet me in the abyss,
And the sheets on my bed are slowly asphyxiating.
Trapped within a nightmare I cannot run from,
I watch the stars fade from sight.
Eyes snapping open,
I was never asleep.
Shadows laugh through printed pictures,
Birds call in the early light,
A tap, tap, tap drips from above,
And the sunrise is slowly approaching.
The breath of dawn's first morning light yawns,
Waking me from my flight.
Sighs escaping lips,
I was never asleep.
Dawn's first light breaks the silence of the night.
