Illusion

You're living in this illusion-
this hopeful delusion.
Give it up buttercup.
You're not worth enough.
You're so fearful that you'll be left behind.
You just can't open your eyes and realize
that nobody wants you,
that nobody needs you.
So you curl up and wait
for that fateful mistake
that will make everyone run far far away.
There will come a day to end your illusion.
It seems it is the only way.
