A Fear In The Dark

Standing under the silver moonlight
Crisp cool air soothes the night
Her pores awoken to the burning stars
Beyond them lie Venus and Mars
Autumn leaves hide in the snow
Created by the Mother Nature she knows
Wind screams beauty as it whistles by
Synonym of how she would die
Lurking in shadows is her greatest fear
Creatures of the night warn it’s near
Serenity tugs at her every move
Demons of her heart lose their groove
Deaf to warning whispers in the dark
Those demons persist on making a new mark
Her fear getting closer every second
It touches her cheek as it silently beckons
Warm blood pumping through her veins
Memories of love keep her sane
As it reaches its one true destination
It calms her nerves like a quick sedation
It crawls under her skin
It tears down her walls
Stopping time as the dark angels call
Its sweet words make it so sensual
Like it should be happening,
They make it seem casual
One last look at all God’s made
She listens to the bells ring out her name
As she finally gives in so she can rest
She realizes her greatest fear is no longer death
