How could you forget all the memories we shared

I thought you’d never leave

I think that’s why it hurt so deep

That there was “so much more” to me

When in reality you never cared, the emotions just weren’t there

I thought you said trust me love

And I did you alone stood far above

I think that’s why it hurt so much, why I have this aching in my gut

I really wish you wouldn’t have pretended

Because now it seems my life has ended

There is no light to end the dark

The pain won’t end the numbness; I fear it’s just the start

That’s when I find this harmless blade, sitting there in the shade

And as I watch the rubies fall

I think I still love you, through it all...
