i whispered words into a microphone
a softer melody to hear
but do they really understand

words played through the stereo
sounding for all ears
but truly heard by you

i whispered to the microphone
for it's my only chance
to get you to hear my words

i scream for you
but my words get lost
like whispers in a crowd

i try and try to call out
but my love seems
like your forever gone

i whisper in this microphone
wishing that you'll hear
my words of love that
for ever belong to you

telling you to stay
you never left but

so who is it to blame
