Be Free

Ever wonder what the
Mad Hatter does on
his actual birthday?

Or what do fish think
in the four seconds
before they forget?

And the hamsters,
running endlessly in
their hamster balls,

do they know it's
just another cage?
That they could run,
forever,
and never be free?

Are we all just
running endlessly
in the cages of our
jobs and careers and schooling,
never to be free?

Those long roads denied to us
by all the obligations of our lives.
Unable to find the time
for the adventures of our lives.
