More poems by awkward silence

5:00 p.m., March 15th

You were there that night I took the pills
rushing to the hospital, you saved my life
as you whispered I love you
I whispered back
5:00 p.m., March 15th

You were there that morning
I tied my arms and legs together
jumping into to the white water
you jumped into the rapids after me, and shouted I love you
I shouted back, 5:00 p.m., March 15th, I do this for real

You were there that afternoon
my depression reached it's peak
ripping the razor out of my hands, away from my throat
you sighed I still love you
I sighed back March 15th, under the oak tree where we met

I was there
that evening, March 14th
you came to me drunk, apologizing
after in caught you in my bed, with my sister
and you never said I love you
and neither did I

You weren't there that day
5:00 p.m., March 15th, under the oak tree
you didn't see me hanging from it's highest branch
you didn't save me this time
you didn't say I love you
