Five to Fifteen

You and me are now fifteen
Best friends we will always be
Since we were five we’ve known each other
We first talked when you asked me to borrow my green color
You said you wanted to draw a tree
I will always remember that first time you spoke to me
Since then we’ve been practically inseparable
With the exception of a few fights
But over the time of ten years, doesn’t that seem about right
The fights were all so silly
Mostly about just me and my ex boyfriend really
We’ve always been there for each other
Especially when you lost your mother
You changed so much after that
But that’s okay
I love you just the same
But everything changed today
When you whispered in my ear “I love you”
All I could say was your name
I couldn’t seem to catch my breath
You started to panic, probably thinking I didn’t feel the same
Finally I managed to say “I love you too,
I’ve always loved you Seth”
