April 14, 1912.

your smile sunk the titanic.
flash flood warning.
and birds sing in your eyes.
i watched the sun set last night
and thought, "if only this were as beautiful as you".
i've seen suns set and rise in your eyes,
and the pale moon in the curve of your back.
of the seven wonders
my favorite is you.
the trojan war was only waged over Helen
because you weren't there.
and if someone stole you from me
i would send 10,000 ships to the ends of the earth.
we are the myths, the songs, and the dance.
we are the sunrises and sunsets.
we are the cold waters of the ocean
bringing us nearer to the center of this eart
that you spin on your fingertips like a toy ball.
