Her Escape

Her Escape
Dark alleyways hid her fragile frame,
Deep breaths risen like steam,
Water splashed to cover the floor,
Running away never felt so good.

She left everything she thought she knew,
Her family and their petty fights,
The voices that screamed out her sins,
All that alcohol on those lonely blood red nights,
Even those guys who called into the dawn.

Her life was finally hers,
If running was all she could do,
If running was your only option,
You'd understand too.

When the end is near she'll know,
She has prepared for this night to come,
No more crimson blades,
Only that precious silver,
Shinning it under the moonlight,
She kissed it like a long forgotten lover and ended her deadly dance.
