I Wonder

I wonder why I frown so much.
I wonder why I cry.
I wonder why everyone I meet,
I have to tell goodbye.
I wonder why those who try to live,
are always the first to die.
I wonder why the brilliant,
can never seem to smile.
And why those who speak with eloquence,
only last a little while.
And most of all I wonder:
Why a child should have to die,
simply for being alive.
